Track & Field Meet Cut Short in Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana Tech Track & Field Teams competed at the Yellowjack/Battlin' Bear Open Saturday. The event was cut short due to weather and only 15 events were completed. 

The Oredigger women were in fifth place with 21 points after seven events. Carroll College was leading with 49. 

The Tech men were in 10th place with three points on the board after eight events. Dickinson State lead the field with 70 points. 

Hailey Nielson won the 1500m finishing with a time of 4:50.96. 

Hailee Stiles finished fourth in the long jump leaping 4.86 meters. Stiles finished ninth in the high jump with a jump of 1.37m. 

Jenna Jordan took seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.42m. 

River Sheppard finished seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:28.22.

Cody Burk took eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.07m. 

The Orediggers travel to Great Falls Thursday for the Providence Open.
