WHITEFISH, Mont. – The Frontier Conference released the 2022 Football Coaches' Preseason Poll today. Montana Tech was voted fifth in the preseason poll. Montana Western was voted to finish on top of the Frontier Conference standings.
Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College tied for second in the balloting. College of Idaho finished fourth in front of Montana Tech. Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, and MSU-Northern were the final teams in the poll.
Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth seven points, second place worth six points, third place worth five points, and each place decreasing in points down to one for seventh place.
Montana Tech finished the 2021 season in fifth place in the Frontier Conference standings with a 5-5 record under first-year head coach
Kyle Samson. The Orediggers return 10 student-athletes on offense this season and seven on defense.
