WHITEFISH, Mont. – Montana Tech's Cade VanVleet was named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

The Orediggers were in Spokane, Washington for the Inland Northwest Invitational hosted by Whitworth University at The Podium indoor track & field facility. VanVleet, a freshman from Noxon, Montana, took fourth place in the weight throw against competition from the NAIA and NCAA Division I student-athletes. He missed the NAIA B standard by mere centimeters in a field of 28 and was had the highest place among NAIA participants. VanVleet also finished in 10^th place in the shot put with a toss of 13.91 meters in a field of 38 competitors.

The Montana Tech men's throws group is ranked 19^th in weight throw and 21^st in shot put in the USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings.

Montana Tech is back at The Podium on February 10-11 for the Whitworth Invitational.
