The Montana Tech women's basketball team is in Dillon for the Montana Western Invitational. The Orediggers will battle Dickinson State University on Thursday at 3pm, and Bushnell University on Friday at 12 pm.

These will be the first games this year against NAIA opponents for Montana Tech, as they started the season on the road at DII MSU-Billings, and D1 Eastern Washington University.

Dickinson rolls into Dillon with a 2-0 record, with a 68-66 victory over Midland, followed by a 97-75 victory over Kansas Wesleyan.

Dating back to 2011 the Orediggers have played Dickinson State University 16 times, with Montana Tech winning 12 of those. The Orediggers are 9-0 at home, and 3-4 playing in North Dakota. This will be the first meeting between the two on a neutral floor over that 12-year span.

The two teams met almost one year ago, with Montana Tech coming out on top 61-59 in Butte.
 
Montana Tech will then take to the floor against Bushnell on Friday at noon. Bushnell enters the game with a 72-35 exhibition loss to Western Washington University.

Montana Tech and Bushnell last met in 2021, when they played twice, each winning on their home floor. The Orediggers won 84-73 in Butte, and Bushnell won 75-63 in Eugene, Oregon.
