BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech men's basketball team wrapped up the nonconference schedule with a blowout victory over Ambrose University 127-44.
The Orediggers (10-3) honed their skills on defense and offense with Frontier Conference action firing up next weekend.
Tech shot 54.8% from the field and made 18 of 40 three-point attempts in the game.
The Orediggers crushed the glass with a 47-29 rebound margin.
The Orediggers defense was pushing the Lions who finished with 28 turnovers. Tech had just seven turnovers and a season-high 32 assists.
Six Orediggers finished with double-digit scoring led by
Ifeanyi Okeke with 18 points. Okeke couldn't miss going 6 for 6 from the field and 6 of 6 from the free throw line.
Asa Williams was just behind with 17 points going 6 for 10 from the field and 2 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Camdyn LaRance went 3 for 4 from three-point range. LaRance finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and a pair of steals.
Caleb Bellach had 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Hayden Diekhans had 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Freshman
Owen Long dropped 10 points hitting 2 of 4 three point attempts.
Matt Henry-Harris led the Lions with nine points. Wisdom Sunday had 10 rebounds and five points.
The No. 15 Rocky Mountain Battlin' Bears travel to Butte next Saturday for the Frontier Opener on Kelvin Sampson County. The No. 7-ranked Orediggers tip-off against the Bears at 4 p.m.
