BUTTE, Mont. -- Brooklynn Hankwitz scored 15 points to lead four Orediggers in double figures as Montana Tech's women's basketball team cruised to an 86-40 non-conference win over Northwest Saturday evening on Kelvin Sampson Court.

Hadley Humphreys added 12 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals for her second double-double in as many games, while Halle Haber and Kia Wasson scored 14 and 11 points, respectively for Tech. Haber chipped in eight rebounds.

Montana Tech (5-1) began the game with a 7-0 run, but Northwest responded with an 8-0 run of its own to take the lead at the 6:30 mark in the first period. But Wasson sank a 3-pointer to put the Orediggers back in front, and Tech never trailed again. The 3 kicked off a 9-0 Montana Tech run, and the Diggers led 20-13 after a quarter. Hankwitz had six of her 15 in the period.

Avery Carlson took over for Tech in the second. The Havre native scored eight points and dished out three assists in the period to send the Diggers into the half with a 46-22 advantage. Carlson finished her night with nine points and five assists.

Haber added 10 points in the second half to help Montana Tech extend its lead as the Orediggers rolled to victory.

Kaleah Madeiros led the Eagles (0-4) with nine points.

Montana Tech will hit the road to play NCAA Division I member Idaho Wednesday at 3 p.m. Mountain time before breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday.
