CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The Montana Tech women's basketball team used a strong second half en route to a 66-54 victory over Loyola New Orleans Thursday on Day 2 of the Coyote Classic at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
Aubrie Rademacher set the pace for the Orediggers (7-4) with 18 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
Liv Wangerin added 15 points for Tech, and
Hadley Humphreys scored 14. Each made four assists.
Montana Tech jumped out to the early lead and hung onto it for most of the first half, leading by as many as seven before the Wolf Pack closed the gap. The teams entered halftime tied at 27.
Humphreys took over in the third period, starting the quarter on an 8-0 run all her own. The junior hit a pair of 3s and a layup to give Tech a lead it never relinquished, and she finished the quarter with 11 of her 14 points. She also had three of her eight rebounds.
Carrying a 46-39 lead into the fourth, the Orediggers got nine points out of Rademacher in the final period to put the game away.
Montana Tech will wrap up its stay at the Coyote Classic in Chandler, Ariz. Friday with a 6 p.m. tip against Benedictine Mesa.
