CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Behind 24 points from Hadley Humphreys and 13 from Brooke Badovinac, the Montana Tech women's basketball made it two straight wins Friday evening with a 72-60 victory over Benedictine Mesa in the Orediggers' final game at the Coyote Classic.

Tech led wire-to-wire in the win, powered by strong perimeter defense and hot shooting itself from behind the arc.

The Orediggers (8-4) began the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back. Humphreys made a layup on the opening possession, followed by an Aubrie Rademacher 3-pointer, a Macy Mayer layup, and another Humphreys lay-in before the Redhawks got on the board. Tech increased the lead to as many as 14 in the first quarter and led, 25-13, 10 minutes in. Tech held onto that advantage through the second and led at halftime, 37-24.

Badovinac paced Tech in the third, scoring eight of her 13 in the period. The sophomore knocked down two of her three 3s in the period as the Orediggers continued to lead.

The fourth was the Humphreys show. The junior dumped in 13 points to hold off a Benedictine Mesa charge — the Redhawks trimmed the lead to as few as six before Tech asserted itself again at the end — and seal the victory.

Rademacher, Kia Wasson, and Halle Haber scored seven points apiece for the Orediggers, while Avery Carlson dished out a team-best four assists to go with four points and three steals.

Montana Tech finished its Arizona roadtrip with a 2-1 record, including wins in its final two games. The Orediggers will break for the holidays before resuming the season Saturday, December 28 at home against King's (Alberta) at 2 p.m.
