BUTTE, Mont. -- The Montana Tech women's basketball team's home win streak ended at four as visiting Jamestown topped the Orediggers, 72-66, on Kelvin Sampson Court Saturday afternoon.
Hadley Humphreys led Montana Tech with a team-best 19 points, and the junior added four assists and three rebounds to her tally. 
Aubrie Rademacher and 
Hallie Neibauer chipped in 10 points apiece for the Orediggers.
Jamestown came out hot off the opening tip. The Jimmies sank their first six field-goal attempts of the game on the way to a 17-9 lead by midway through the first period. Tech cut the deficit to five later in the period, but UJ led 28-16 after the opening quarter.
In the second, Montana Tech locked down on defense. The Orediggers held their guests to a 3-for-17 performance from the field in the 10-minute frame, battling back to trim the lead to one with less than 2 minutes to halftime. Tech trailed by two, 36-34, at the half.
The Jimmies caught fire again, starting the second half on a 9-0 run to regain a double-digit lead. The gap swelled to as many as 14 before Tech began to claw back. The Orediggers eventually cut the lead to as little as two in the fourth but never managed to come any closer.
Kate Cordes scored a game-best 27 points to lead the way for Jamestown.
For the Orediggers (6-3), 
Liv Wangerin dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds. Rademacher six boards onto her line.
Montana Tech will break for final exams before heading to Arizona ahead of the holidays for the Cactus Classic. The roadtrip begins Wednesday, December 18 against Campbellsville at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, Ariz.
