BUTTE, Mont. – The University of Providence surged in the fourth quarter defeating Montana Tech 57-50.
The Orediggers (11-12, 2-8) led 41-40 going into the final frame of the game. This would be the final lead for Tech.
The Argos (16-7, 7-3) Kolby Pimperton hit a three to open the scoring in the fourth quarter putting them ahead 43-41. Providence would go on a 15-4 run over the next five minutes.
The Orediggers led 27-25 at halftime shooting 37.5% from the field in the first half. But the Orediggers shot 29% in the second half.
The Argos shot 32.2% from the field in the first half, but in the second half they turned up the offense shooting 44.8% from the field.
The Orediggers outrebounded the Argos 41-32. Tech had 12 offensive boards but was only able to convert those into 8 points.
Aubrie Rademacher had 14 of her 16 points in the first half going 6 of 12 from the field. Rademacher finished with 9 rebounds and 3 steels.
Liv Wangerin had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Soda Rice had 5 points and 7 rebounds.
Ashlee Maldonado led the Argos with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Maddy Dixon had 11 points and 5 rebounds and Kolby Pimperton finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Keanna Salave'a led the team with 12 rebounds.
Montana Tech is on the road this weekend when they travel to Montana State Northern.
