SHELBY, Mont.- Day one of the University of Providences' Argo Sizzler is in the books, and the leaderboard is tinted Oredigger green.
The Oredigger women's team currently sits in first place at +19 total, three strokes better than Rocky Mountain College (+22), Carroll College is third at +35, and the University of Providence is fourth at +83. The Oredigger team score of 307 shattered the previous school record round of 315.
Individually
Kodie Hoagland is tied for first place with a round of 74 (+2), Sami Benson is in fifth with a 77 (+5), one stroke in front of an Oredigger logjam at +6.
Emma Woods,
Casha Corder, and
Annika Brocklebank all shot an opening round 78 (+6) to tie for sixth.
Franchi Ceartin is tied for 12
th, shooting 81 (+9).
After the men's opening round, Rocky Mountain College is in front with a +1 team total. Montana Tech is in second at +13, Carroll College third at +27, followed by the University of Providence at +58, and MSU-Northern did not finish.
Sophomore Oredigger
Tyler Avery is tied for the lead shooting an opening round 70 (-2).
Gabe Witham is tied for fifth place with a 74 (+2). A pair of Orediggers are tied for eighth (just a shot behind Avery),
Landon Olson, and Otto Lund, both hitting opening round 75's. Collin Wade is at +6 (78),
Joe Opitz at +7, and
Joe McGreevey at +9.
Day two will see the women playing an additional round of 18, and the men playing 36.
