HELENA, Mont.- The Frontier Conference released the Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference week five of the 2024 women's volleyball season, with winters from Providence and Montana Tech.


Setter of the Week:  Rhys Layton, Montana Tech Layton, a sophomore setter from Eagle, Idaho, was named as the Setter of the Week.

Layton tied her personal record with 51 set assists in leading the Orediggers' 3-1 victory at MSU-Northern.  She then tallied 45 assists in 3-1 road win at Carroll.  She posted a double-double in the match with 10 digs.

Layton amassed 96 set assists (12.0 assists per set) for the week.  She added 19 digs, six blocks, and five kills.

This is her fourth career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
 
 
Attacker of the Week:  Nina Janjic, Providence Janjic, a senior right side from Novi Sad, Serbia, was chosen as the Attacker of the Week.

Janjic led the 15^th ranked Argos with 18 kills in 3-1 victory over Rocky Mountain and 14 kills in 3-1win over No. 13 ranked Montana Western.

She averaged 4.0 kills per set over the two victories with a hitting percentage of .310.  She also collected four digs and three blocks for the week.

This is her third career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award, her second consecutive week that she received the award.


Defender of the Week:  Sadie Giles, Providence Giles, a junior middle blocker from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was selected as the Defender of the Week.

Giles tallied 29 digs (7.3 digs per set) to lead No. 15 Providence to a 3-1 road victory at Rocky Mountain.  She also added 26 digs (6.5 digs per set) in leading Argos to a 3-1 home victory over No. 13 ranked Montana Western.

Giles averaged 6.9 digs per set and tallied 15 kills and six blocks as the Argos went 2-0 record for the week.

This is her first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
