LAUREL, Mont.- Samantha Benson is on top of the leaderboard after 36 holes at the Beartooth Invitational at the Laurel Golf Club. The Oredigger women sit in third place after 36 holes, while the men are in second place.
Through 36 holes the Oredigger women's team sits at +105. Rocky shot a +61 to sit on top of the leaderboard, MSU-Billings is in second at +92, and Carroll is fourth at +123.
Samantha Benson leads the way at +10, shooting an opening round 74, followed by an 80, she is one stroke ahead of Laila Jalil from Providence.
Samantha's first-round 74 was the best score posted through the first 18 holes.
Franchi Cerartin is tied for 10
th at +25, shooting a first-round 87, followed by an 82.
Emma Woods is tied for 13
th at +29, while
Kodie Hoagland and
Samantha Moore are tied for 15
th at +33.

The women will play another 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Montana Tech men are paced by
Tyler Avery in third place, who is +5 after 36 holes. The top of the leaderboard shows Rocky's Kristjan Burkeica who shot an opening round 69, followed by a 70 in round two, which puts him at -5 for the day. The only golfer to finish under par.
Oredigger
Carson Hupka is tied for fifth at +7, and
Landon Olson is tied for eighth at +10.
Joe Opitz finds himself in the top 10 after shooting a 155 (+11).
Gabe Witham is two strokes back at +12, along with
Colin Wade who shot 77, 79 to land in a four-way tie for 12
th.
