BUTTE, Mont. -- Hayden Diekhans scored 22 points, leading four Montana Tech men's basketball players in double figures as the No. 6-ranked Orediggers topped rival Carroll College, 74-67, to stay perfect at home in 2024-25.
Montana Tech (14-2, 2-1 Frontier Conference) also got double-digit efforts from
Brayden Koch (16 points),
Ifeanyi Okeke (12), and
Keeley Bake (10).
Carroll jumped out to an early 15-8 lead, but Tech stormed back to tie the game at 17. Diekhans made a layup with 9:40 remaining in the first half to give Tech a 23-21 lead, and the Orediggers never looked back. That bucket kicked off a 15-4 Digger run, and Tech led 38-28 at the half.
The Saints (5-11, 0-3) cut the lead to as few as four in the second half, but Montana Tech kept its composure. The Diggers ripped off a 7-0 run to push the lead back into double digits, and the lead was never threatened again.
Carroll got 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals from Isaiah Crane.
It was Tech's sixth-straight win over Carroll.
The Diggers will return to Frontier play Thursday on the road with a 7 p.m. tipoff at Montana Western.
