BUTTE, Mont. -- Michael Ure scored a game-high 19 points, Ifeanyi Okeke and Brayden Koch tacked on 12 points apiece, and the No. 11-ranked Montana Tech men's basketball team bested MSU-Northern, 76-53, to move atop the Frontier Conference standings Thursday on Kelvin Sampson Court.

Ure added five rebounds, two steals, and a block to his tally in the Orediggers' win, while Karson Peffer served up a team-best five assists in the winning effort.

Montana Tech (17-2, 5-1 Frontier) started the game with an 11-4 run and never looked back, leading for the majority of the game. Levi Torgerson's 3-pointer with 5:17 left in the first half to give the Orediggers their first double-digit lead of the game.

MSUN cut the deficit to four before the halftime break, but the Diggers never relented. After the intermission, Tech rebuilt the lead to double digits with an 18-2 run in the second half. Rhett Reynolds put an exclamation point on the run with an alley-oop dunk from Torgerson that put the game out of reach.

Ure scored 12 of his 19 after halftime to help seal the win. The Diggers made 10 of 12 free throws in the second half.

Montana Tech will look to extend its home win streak to 12 games Saturday when No. 19 Rocky Mountain pays a visit to Kelvin Sampson Court for a 4 p.m. contest.
