BUTTE, Mont. -- Keeley Bake scored 19 points,
Hayden Diekhans and
Michael Ure added 14 each, and the No. 11-ranked Montana Tech men's basketball team maintained its lead in the Frontier Conference standings with a 76-59 victory over No. 19 Rocky Mountain Saturday afternoon.
The Orediggers (18-2, 6-1 Frontier) also got 10 points and six rebounds out of
Ifeanyi Okeke in the win. Diekhans added a team-best eight rebounds and five assists, while Ure picked up seven boards and two blocks in the win.
Tech jumped out to a 10-0 lead at the game's start, but Rocky Mountain (15-5, 4-3) rebounded to make the first half a back-and-forth affair. The Diggers led 31-28 midway through.
Bake helped Montana Tech maintain the lead after halftime. The senior scored 12 of his 19 points after halftime and didn't miss a shot; he was 2-for-2 from the field — both 3-pointers — and 6-for-6 from the free-throw stripe in the win. Ure also reached double-digit scoring in the second half, pouring in 10 to help secure the win.
Montana Tech will hit the road Thursday to continue Frontier Conference play with a 7 p.m. tip at Carroll College.
