HELENA, Mont. -- Despite 17 points from
Aubrie Rademacher and 10 from
Liv Wangerin, the Montana Tech women's basketball team dropped a 76-56 Frontier Conference decision Thursday evening at rival and No. 20-ranked Carroll College.
The Saints shot nearly 60 percent both from the field (29-for-50) and 3-point range (12-for-21) to account for the win.
Tech fell behind in the early going, starting the game down on a 14-2 run, and never recovered. Carroll led 22-9 after the first quarter and carried a 36-22 advantage into halftime.
The Orediggers briefly cut into the lead in the second half, but Carroll continued to control the game. The Saints pushed the lead to to 59-43 by quarter's end. The Saints outscored Tech, 17-13, in the final stanza to put the game away.
Rademacher went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc in her team-leading effort. Wangerin added three assists and three rebounds to her line.
Willa Albrecht led Carroll with 25 points.
Montana Tech will continue Frontier Conference play Saturday at 2 p.m. when Montana Western pays a visit to Butte.
