BUTTE -- Hadley Humpherys' double-double powered the No. 25-ranked Montana Tech women's basketball team to a 71-44 blowout win over Valley City State Sunday afternoon in Valley Bank Arena.
Humpherys' 18 points and 11 rebounds helped the Orediggers avenge their only loss of the 2025-26 season, as did 12 points from
Halle Haber and 10 from
Brooke Badovinac.
Montana Tech (10-1, 6-1 Frontier Conference) eliminated all doubt early. The Orediggers began the game on a 30-5 run that lasted much of the first half and carried a 38-15 lead into halftime. Humpherys had 12 points at the half.
The Orediggers began the second half with the same fire, kicking off the third period with a 6-0 run. Humpherys added her final three points in the quarter and polished off her fourth double-double of the season with three rebounds in the fourth. The senior also piled up five assists, two steals, and a block. She has scored in double figures in each of the past five games.
Freshman
Kylie Konen led the Orediggers with five points in the fourth quarter to keep the game on ice.
Liv Wangerin finished with eight points and nine rebounds for Tech. JayCee Richter led Valley City State (5-6, 2-5) with 10 points off the bench.
Montana Tech will take a break from Frontier Conference play next time out, playing host to Briercrest at Friday. The Orediggers will celebrate Elementary School Day in the 9 a.m. tipoff, welcoming children from Silver Bow and Jefferson counties to the game. Admission will be free for all spectators.
