All-America! Torgerson, Graves win NAIA AP first-team honors

OMAHA, Neb. -- A pair of Montana Tech football players garnered first-team All-America honors from the Associated Press, the AP announced this week.

Seniors Jacob Graves and Levi Torgerson both landed on the offensive first team.

Graves, an offensive lineman from Kuna, Idaho, held down the right tackle position for the 12th-best scoring offense in the nation, starting all 13 games in the trenches. The 2025 Frontier Conference East Division offensive lineman of the year helped Montana Tech rank in the NAIA's top 10 in total offense, passing yards, passing yards per attempt, passing touchdowns, first downs, and third- and fourth-down conversion percentage.

The 6-foot-2, 295-pounder is the second Montana Tech offensive lineman in as many years to earn AP All-America honors, joining Brandon Spencer in 2024.

Torgerson, a receiver and return specialist from Great Falls, had one of the most productive seasons in Oredigger history in 2025 on his way to AP All-America honors in the all-purpose slot. He led the NAIA and set Montana Tech single-season records with 103 receptions and 1,370 receiving yards.

In the return game, Torgerson was tops in the country with 444 punt return yards, ranked fourth in the nation in punt return average, and was 13th in kick return yards. He had a pair of return touchdowns — one kickoff and one punt — in the Orediggers season-opening win over No. 5-ranked Montana Western August 28.

Torgerson set 10 Oredigger records during the season, earning the Frontier East's player of the year award in addition to first-team AFCA All-America and Frontier East honors.

Montana Tech posted a program-record 12 wins, finished the season as conference champions for the first time since 2016, and earned the No. 3 seed in the NAIA Football Championship Series, bowing out in the quarterfinals of the national playoffs.

A panel of sports information directors at NAIA member schools selected the teams.
