BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Montana Tech women's basketball team saw its three-game Frontier Conference win streak come to an end Thursday, dropping a 57-36 decision at Rocky Mountain.
Hadley Humphreys led the Orediggers (16-9, 7-5 Frontier) with a 13-point performance. Tech struggled from the field as a team, shooting just 12-for-51 and 1-for-13 from 3-point land.
Rocky took control of the game early, jumping out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter. The Orediggers reeled the game back in during the second period, using stifling defense to hold the Battlin' Bears to just three points in the quarter. RMC (16-9, 8-4) led by five, 20-15, at the half.
The Battlin' Bears retook control in the second half. After a Humphreys layup to open the half, Rocky ripped off a 12-0 run to blow the game open. The host team held a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
Hallie Neibauer chipped in five points and four rebounds for the Orediggers off the bench.
Montana Tech will hit the road again Saturday, this time to Helena for a 2 p.m. date with No. 19-ranked Carroll College.
