HAVRE, Mont. -- Aubrie Rademacher had another big game, pushing the Montana Tech women's basketball team to a 74-62 road victory at MSU-Northern Saturday afternoon.
The senior from Kalispell dumped in a game-best 18 points, including a 3-for-5 performance from 3-point territory, to go with seven rebounds in the Orediggers' win.
Hadley Humphreys (15 points, nine rebounds) and
Liv Wangerin (13 points, six rebounds, four assists) joined Rademacher in double-figure scoring.
Montana Tech (16-8, 7-4 Frontier) got out to an early lead thanks to Brooklyn Hankwitz's 3 on the opening possession of the game, but the Skylights rallied late in the first period to lead, 21-19, after 10 minutes of play. The Orediggers retook the lead early in the second with a 13-0 run ignited by
Halle Haber's layup and polished off thanks to a Rademacher 3.
Tech built that run into a 17-point lead by halftime, outscoring Northern 26-7 in the second quarter.
MSUN (11-13, 2-9) trimmed the lead to as little as four in the third, but Tech regained the momentum late in the period and extended the advantage back to double digits early in the fourth. The hosts never again cut the lead under three possessions.
Kia Wasson chipped in nine points and two steals off the bench for the Diggers.
Shyan Krass led Northern with 16 points.
After starting the season 1-5 on the road, Tech has now won two straight away from Kelvin Sampson Court. The win propelled the Orediggers into a tie for second place in the Frontier standings with Rocky Mountain. Montana Tech will head to Billings Thursday for a 5 p.m. league contest against the Battlin' Bears.
