MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Montana Tech women's and men's track & field teams enjoyed another record-breaking weekend at the Montana Open Friday and Saturday in their final tune-up before the Frontier Conference championships.
Junior
Alyssa Jany highlighted Saturday's competition with a victory in the women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase, which counted as the Frontier Conference's championship in the event. Jany finished the race in 11:28.40, 12 seconds ahead of runner-up Grace Timm from Rocky Mountain. The run improved Jany's hold on the No. 3 all-time spot in Montana Tech history.
Junior
Ben Zerr led the way for the Oredigger men with a fifth-place finish (9:46.24).
A handful of Montana Tech records went down at the meet as well. Senior

Freshman
Ava Epler set new Tech top marks in the women's shot put (12.53m) and hammer throw (42.54m).
On the men's side, the 4x100m relay of

Junior
Cade VanVleet continued his incredible season in the throws, winning the discus with a 53.02m heave that was just a hair off his Tech record in the event and also topped the NAIA's 'A' standard. He also had an 'A' qualifying throw in the shot put, placing fifth with a 16.78m toss.
Sophomore
