BUTTE, Mont. -- Montana Tech's student-athletes and staff got together Tuesday evening to celebrate the best of the best in Oredigger athletics at the 2024-2025 Techspy Awards, put on by the Montana Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. 

Tech's SAAC representatives collected nominations from the athletics staff for eight awards, and Oredigger student-athletes from all 12 Montana Tech sports voted to determine the winners. 

Women's basketball, in the wake of its most successful season in more than a decade, took home five of the honors, while men's basketball, football, women's track & field, and volleyball also shared the spoils. 

The 2024-2025 Techspy Award winners were as follows: 
Female Freshman of the Year: Hallie Neibauer, women's basketball 
Male Freshman of the Year: Ryder Barinowski, football 
Female Athlete of the Year: Aubrie Rademacher, women's basketball 
Male Athlete of the Year: Hayden Diekhans, men's basketball 
Charlie (Spirit) Award: Abby Clark, women's track & field/volleyball 
Team of the Year: Women's basketball 
Coach of the Year: Jeff Graham, women's basketball 
Support Staff of the Year: Frankie Bignell, assistant women's basketball coach 

The 2024-25 season isn't yet over for Oredigger athletics. Track & field's outdoor season is still going strong with the Frontier Conference championships to be decided this Monday and the NAIA national meet to come in late May.
