BILLINGS -- Kinnidi Willmore spiked 14 kills,
Madison Biery made six blocks, and the 19th-ranked Montana Tech volleyball team got back on the winning track Saturday with a 25-19, 25-14, 25-14 road sweep of Frontier Conference rival Rocky Mountain.
Willmore got the offense started early and often for Montana Tech (10-5, 6-3 Frontier), nailing the Orediggers' first kill of the match and icing the first set with four kills in Tech's final six points.
She added six kills in the second set, powering 7-0 and 6-0 runs that helped the Orediggers take control. Tech then built a healthy lead in the third before ending the match with a 4-0 run.
Biery was a huge part of the Orediggers' defensive effort as Tech held Rocky to an ice-cold .028 hitting percentage for the match. It marked the fifth time this season the sophomore has blocked five or more attack attempts.
Biery and
Talan Dodson each chipped in eight kills for Montana Tech.
Ellie Reinertson and
Rhys Layton both set up 17 assists, and
Emmy Green led the team in digs with 10.
The sweep was Tech's sixth of the season.
Montana Tech heads home for the first time in nearly a month in its next match. The Orediggers will play host to No. 4-ranked Providence Friday at 6 p.m. inside Valley Bank Arena.
