BUTTE -- Liv Wangerin scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds, Halle Haber added 13 points, and the 14th-ranked Montana Tech women's basketball team extended its win streak to nine games Saturday with a 65-55 home triumph over MSU-Northern. 

The Orediggers (14-1, 10-1 Frontier Conference) looked to be in control early, starting the game on a 10-0 run, but then the Skylights' offense woke up. MSU-Northern knocked down four 3-pointers in a 5-minute span to rattle off an 18-4 run of its own. The Skylights led 18-16 after the first period. 

Tech righted the ship in the second quarter, powered by eight points from Haber. The Orediggers led late in the period, but MSU-Northern scored the final five points of the half to take a 30-29 lead into the locker room. 

Montana Tech's defense locked down in the third. The Orediggers held their opponents to a meager 3-for-16 shooting effort over the 10-minute span. Meanwhile, Rachel Van Blaricom scored all seven of her points in the quarter, powering the Diggers to a 50-40 lead with a quarter to play. 

The Orediggers pushed the lead to as many as 15 in the fourth as they cruised to victory. 

Brooke Badovinac led Tech's defensive effort with three steals to go along with her five points and two assists. 

Ciera Agasiva paced the Skylights (12-4, 8-3) with 17 points. 

Montana Tech will hit the road for its next five games, starting Friday, January 16 at No. 4-ranked Dakota State. The Orediggers return to Valley Bank Arena Friday, February 6 at 5 p.m. versus Dickinson State.
