HELENA -- Montana Tech's
Adam Schrader landed the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference men's track athlete of the week award for his performance over the weekend, the league office announced Tuesday.
Schrader, a junior from Columbia Falls, earned his second-career NAIA 'B' standard in the 400m hurdles Saturday at the Montana Open in Missoula. He raced the distance in 53.32 seconds, the 22nd-fastest time in the country and best of his career, to win the event.Â
He then led off the Orediggers' victorious 4x400m relay, teaming with
Morgan McClernan,
Konnor Gregerson, and
Matthew Moreni to win in 3:18.34. That was the group's best time of the season and ranks 44th in the country.Â
The weekly award is the first of Schrader's career and the team's fourth of the outdoor season on the track.Â
The Orediggers will head to Dickinson, N.D. this weekend to compete for the Frontier Conference's outdoor championships.Â
