HELENA -- For the second straight week, a Montana Tech Oredigger garnered the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference volleyball offensive player of the week award. 

Junior Madison Biery collected this week's award, the league office announced Monday. 

Biery, a middle hitter from Boise, Idaho, broke Montana Tech's single-match attack percentage record Saturday against Ottawa (Ariz.) when she hit .813, amassing a career-high with 13 kills and no errors. 

She totaled 30 kills and eight blocks over the weekend, helping the Orediggers go 3-0 at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge. Biery hit .682 (30-for-44 with just two errors) through those three matches. 

Biery began her week with eight kills, three assists, and two blocks in Thursday's sweep of IU East. She followed that with a nine-kill, three-block performance Saturday morning in the Orediggers' four-set win over Arizona Christian before going off against OUAZ in the final match of the weekend Saturday afternoon. She added three more blocks to her 13 kills in that sweep of the Spirit. 

Through six matches this season, Biery leads the Frontier with a .447 hitting percentage and paces the Orediggers with 24 blocks. Her 53 kills rank third on the squad. 

She is the second Oredigger in as many weeks to earn the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference offensive player of the week award; junior Halle Moomaw carried the honor a week ago. 

Montana Tech, which received votes in the NAIA's preseason coaches' top 25 poll, holds a 5-1 record to start the 2026 season. The Orediggers will be off this weekend before heading to North Dakota to start Frontier Conference play next weekend. Tech will play at Mayville State Friday, September 4 before heading to Valley City State Saturday, September 5.
