KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Montana Tech volleyball team is back in the top 25.
The Orediggers checked in at No. 24 in the second NAIA coaches' poll of the season, the association announced Wednesday.
Montana Tech carries a 10-1 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in Frontier Conference play into this week's slate of competiton. The Orediggers are winners of 10 in a row.
It's the program's first foray into the top 25 since September 17 of last season, when Montana Tech was ranked 17th. The team received votes in each poll since.
Hot hitting has been key to the Orediggers' winning ways. Tech ranks second in the NAIA with a .279 team hitting percentage this season, and the team is fifth in kills per set at 13.43.
The Orediggers join Frontier Conference fellows No. 8 Providence and No. 16 Bellevue in the top 25.
Montana Tech will be on the road to continue conference play this week, heading to Bellevue for a ranked-teams showdown Thursday evening before trekking to Dakota State on Saturday.
