Box Score Butte-The Battlin' Bears roughed up the Orediggers Friday night downing them 83-70 at Kelvin Sampson Court.
Rocky moves to (10-11) on the year and (3-3) in the Frontier. Tech falls to (10-7) overall and (2-4) in conference play.
The Bears slowly built a lead in the first half finishing ahead 41-33 at the break. Rocky shot 53% from the field and 42% from three-point range in the first half. They out rebounded Tech 20-12.
Senior forward Matt Fogarty lead the first half with 11 points and two rebounds.
Tech shot 44% from the field.
Adam Greger had 12 points and four rebounds.
The Orediggers would get within two points of the Bears twice in the second half, but could not manage to get over the hump. Tech managed to out rebound Rocky in the second half, but key outside shooting from Rocky's Anthony Carter kept Tech from getting close down the stretch.
Rocky would hold Greger to four points in the second half. He would finish with 16 points and six rebounds.
Four Tech players hit double digits.
AJ Paine finished with 15 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Tyree Haynie and Dan Simon had 14 points.
Cole Conway pulled down eight rebounds.
Carter would lead the Bears in scoring with 22. He also had four rebounds and a pair of assists on the night.
Matt Fogarty had 16 points, five rebounds and a block.
Montana Tech is home again tomorrow night when they host the Carroll College Saints at 7:30 pm at Kelvin Sampson Court.
