Lady Diggers Dominate Walla Walla

Butte - The Lady Diggers dominated all areas of the game Saturday night. Tech ran up the score against Walla Walla finishing at 101-37.

Montana Tech (4-4) improves their record to the positive side winning their second straight.

Walla Walla (5-13) loses their eighth straight game.

It took thirteen minutes for the Wolves to get on the board. Walla Walla entered the game with 7:12 to play in the first half with a three pointer, 38-3. The Diggers took a 55-14 lead into the break. Twelve of the Wolves' fourteen points were treys.

The second half was more of the same, but Walla Walla was able to put more points on the board. The largest lead of the game was 69 points with 3:11 to go in the contest.

Walla Walla had 32 turnovers in the game.

All of the Lady Diggers got on the court during the game. Five Diggers had double-digit points. As a team, they hit 54.9-percent from the field and 43.8-percent from beyond the arc.

Mandy Machinal had 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.

Dannii Devenny had 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and six steals. Devenny was 7 of 8 from the field.

Kelsey DeWit had 13 points; Shaye Murphy had 11.

Brooke Pokorny went 5 of 6 from the field including 3 of 4 from three-point range for 13 points. She also had five rebounds and five assists.

The Lady Diggers take on Walla Walla again tomorrow. Tip-off is at noon at Kelvin Sampson Court.
