The Lady Diggers (10-16, 5-9) start their Frontier Conference Tournament in Lewiston, Idaho on Wednesday night. They picked up the seventh seed in the tournament and will face the second ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors (25-4, 11-3) at the Activity Center.
Fifth year head coach Kerie DePell has lost six straight against LC State. Her last win against the Warriors came on February 11, 2010 in Lewiston.
LC State is a perfect 13-0 at home this season.
The 'Diggers rank sixth in the conference in points per game (61.8) and points allowed (64.2). They are hitting 39.3-percent of their shots placing them seventh in the conference. Beyond the arc, Tech is hitting 30.2-percent of their shots and falling in the sixth spot in the conference.
On defense, the 'Diggers are giving up 64.2 PPG to their opponents on 38.8-percent shooting. They are tied for last in the conference with Western in that category. Their opponents are hitting 33.5-percent of their three-point shots.
LC State is second in the conference in scoring (69.7 PPG) and first in field goal percentage (43.7%). They are holding their opponents to 55.9 PPG and rank third in the conference and 14th nationally. In rebounding, the Warriors are second in the conference averaging 42 a game.
The Warriors Jasmine Stohr is the conference's leading scorer this season averaging 19.3 points per game. She is ranked seventh in the NAIA Division I in that category. The senior also averages 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals.
Senior center Kirsi Voshell is leading the Frontier in blocks (2.4) and is ranked fourth nationally. In field goal percentage, she leads the conference (57.4-percent) and is ranked sixth nationally. She is tied for third in rebounding (8.2).
Freshman
Mandy Machinal is leading the 'Diggers in scoring this season averaging 12.9 points per game. The Washington native is shooting 37.9-percent from the field. She also grabs 3.0 rebounds and 1.96 assists.
Under the basket, sophomore
Kelsey DeWit is averaging 10.7 points per game on a 51.7-percent field goal percentage. She ranks second in the Frontier in blocks (1.8) and 15th nationally.
Senior
Tabitha Tomlinson is leading the team in assists (4.2) this season and ranks second in the conference and 22nd nationally. She also leads the team in steal averaging 1.6 per game.
