CALDWELL, Idaho –
Adam Greger scored 27 points and added six rebounds, as Montana Tech held off a late College of Idaho rally to knock off the Coyotes, 73-69, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Orediggers (9-6) used a 14-2 run early in the second half to build a 56-40 lead with 11 minutes to play, but made just 3-of-10 free throws during a C of I 11-2 run, as the hosts cut the margin to 68-65 on a Rodney Delgardo three. The Coyotes (7-9) would have a chance to tie with 17 seconds left, but Delgardo's three rimmed out and Tech hit 3-of-4 free throws to seal the win.
Daniel Simon had 16 points and eight rebounds in the win, as MT recorded 11 second half offensive rebounds and forced 15 C of I turnovers.
Taylor Pruett had 19 points and 17 rebounds in the loss for the Yotes, who finished non-conference play with a 4-6 record. Delgardo had 13 points, with Miguel Rodriguez and Antonio Garrett each scoring 10.
The Coyotes return to Cascade Conference play on Friday, traveling to Corban University.
