Dillon, MT-The Lady Orediggers lost their second straight conference contest to the Lady Bulldogs 57-52 in overtime.
A pair of
Sophia Baetz triples in the first minutes of the contest jumped Montana Tech out to an 11-2 advantage.
Western responded with a 13-4 run to tie the basketball game up at 15.
Tech was down by one point at the half, but would tie it up at the end of the second half 47-47.
Western's McCall Hasquet knocked down a three pointer to open up the scoring in the extra stanza. The Bulldogs outscored Montana Tech 10-5 in the overtime period and came away with the 57-52 victory.
Montana Western's Jenna Banks led all scorers with 19 points.
Kelsey DeWit and
Mandy Machinal chipped in 11 points each and freshman
Callee Remsen came off the bench to tally eight points and grab four rebounds for the Diggers.
Montana Tech drops to 0-2 in conference and 4-4 on the season. Western moves to 7-5 overall and 1-1 in the Frontier.
Tech continues the road trip to Salt Lake City to take on the Westminster Griffins this Saturday at 5:30 pm M.S.T.
