Helena, MT- To say
Bryan Bock has ice in his veins would be an understatement. The senior knocked down three free throws with just a second on the clock to give the Diggers a 79-78 win over Frontier Conference rival Carroll College.
Bock made his final game against the Fighting Saints a memorable one, scoring 35 points while going a perfect 11-11 at the free throw line for the Orediggers.Â
The Diggers went to the half trailing by eight points, 28-36, somewhat reminiscent of the game that Tech lost to Carroll in Butte two weeks ago.
However, the Diggers came out in the second half with a whole different energy outscoring Carroll College 51-42 in the second stanza. Bock scored 28 of his 35 points in the second half.
With less than three seconds left
Bryan Bock pulled up for a three point shot to win it for the Diggers but was fouled and sent to the line for three free throws. Bock made all three, then on the defensive end, intercepted Andrew Campbell's three-quarter court inbound pass to seal the one point victory.
Antonio Snow played strong on ball defense against the Saints backcourt, even picking Zach Taylor's pocket and making it count with a two handed jam in the second half. Snow finished the game with 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
Tech's leading scorer,
Adam Greger, had an off night offensively but still tallied 10 points for the Diggers.Â
Carroll College was led in scoring by Zach Taylor who put in 28 and Dennis Mikelonis who had 26.
Montana Tech finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field.Â
The Diggers snap a four game slide and improve to 5-8 in the Frontier and 13-12 overall.Â
Tech finishes the road trip against Rocky Mountain College this Friday. The Diggers defeated Rocky 100-91 in early January in Butte.
