Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho - The Diggers (1-4, 1-4 Frontier) dropped their third consecutive contest to the College of Idaho (3-1, 2-1 Frontier), 41-25, Saturday afternoon. Tech had a total of 307 yards on the day but gave up 504 to the Yotes.

Dawson Reardon made his first start of the 2014 season for the Diggers. The Helena native went 15-29 for 217 yards and a touchdown. Senior running back
Pat Hansen eclipsed the century mark for the first time this season with 103 yards on 17 carries and added two scores. Wide receiver
Alec Bray caught five passes for 117 yards.
C of I's quarterback Teejay Gordon threw for 158-yards and rushed for 181-yards and two touchdowns to lead the Yotes.
The first half was a defensive battle as both teams struggled to get on the board. The Yotes scored first thanks to a 10-yard rush by running back Zach Garzoli. Tech would answer back with a score of their own on a 1-yard rush by Hansen to cap the 16-play 83-yard drive.
In the following possession, the Yotes marched down the field deep into the Montana Tech territory. C of I's quarterback dropped back to pass Austin Diffey but Tech's
Mike Touzinsky intercepted the pass solidifying a 7-to-7 tie at the midway point.
The third quarter did not fare well for the Diggers as Hansen fumbled the ball on the first drive of the third quarter. The Yotes used the turnover to go on a three play 21-yard drive to take a 14-7 advantage.
In the following Tech drive, Reardon connected with Bray for 41-yards setting up a 33-yard field goal by
Matt Berg cutting the Yotes lead to 14-10.
Following the kickoff, C of I's Gordon rushed for a 54-yard touchdown to increase the Yote lead to 21-10. Gordon would found the end zone once again on a 4-yard scramble to put the Yotes up by 16 at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was an offense explosion as both teams combined for 29 points. After another Yote touchdown, Reardon drove the diggers down the field and connected with
Zach Bunney for a 12-yard touchdown.
Hansen reached the end zone for the second time with a 61-yard touchdown run, but with 1:19 left in the game it was too late as the Yotes were able to hold on and secure the victory.
Gunnar Kayser led the way for the defense with nine total tackles.
Zach Hulse added four tackles and a sack.
The Montana Tech Football Orediggers are off next week and return to Alumni Coliseum on October 11
th when they host Rocky Mountain College at 1 p.m.
