BUTTE, Mont. - The red-hot Montana Tech Orediggers look to continue thier winning ways when they host Rocky Mountain College and rival Carrol College this week. Tech squares off with the Rocky first on Thursday then take on Carroll on Saturday. Both games tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

For the Record
The Diggers knocked off 19th-ranked Lewis-Clark Warriors last week in a 74-66 overtime thriller. Senior Brandon Rydberg had a stellar game shooting 7-of-12 for a season-high 18 points. Transfer Chase Haack added 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks off the bench.
 
Scouting the Battlin' Bears
Rocky is currently 12-6 overall and 1-3 in the Frontier. The Battlin' Bears are coming off their first conference win with a 66-56 victory against MSU-Northern. Guard Malachi Roberts passed Rocky with a game-high 23 points on the night.  
 
Despite their conference record, RMC ranks in the top of the conference and nation in scoring. Rocky's 87.7 points per game is second best in the conference. The Battlin' Bears ranks second in the NAIA in made three pointers a game making just under 10 per game. 
 
Last Time vs. RMC
Tech and Rocky split both contest last year with each team winning at home. The Diggers took the 100-91 win in Butte. RMC returned the favor with a 101-86 victory in Billings. Brandon Rydberg averaged 16 points in both contest. 
 
Scouting the Fighting Saints
The surprising Saints are 13-5 overall and 2-2 in the Frontier despite being picked to finish last in the preseason poll. Carroll spilt last weeks' matchups against MSU-Northern and Great Falls. CC beat Northern 89-83 in Havre then fell 70-61 to UGF. Zach Taylor led the way for the Fighting Saints averaging 20.5 points, six assists and 4.5 rebounds per contests.
 
Last Time vs. Carroll
Carroll and Tech went 1-1 against each other last season. Carroll struck first with a 70-54 victory in Butte. Tech returned the favor with a 79-78 come-from-behind win. Bryan Bock hit three free throws with one second left to give Tech the victory. Bock went 11-for-11 from the charity stripe on his way to a 35-point performance.
 
Diggers in the polls
For the first time in over a decade, Tech has received votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll.  The Diggers received 24 votes in the latest installment putting them just outside the top-25.
