HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College (0-1, 11-0) needed a big third quarter to quiet the first half Oredigger charge to stay undefeated. Saints down the Diggers 68-63.
The Saints outscored the Orediggers 25-15 in the third frame.
The Orediggers controlled the first stanza shooting 44.4 percent from the field. Tech led the entire first half taking a four point lead into the break 32-28.
Sammy McGree and
Rachel Farris had eight points each.
The Saints shot 25 percent from the field in the first half and hit just 3 of 21 from three point range in the game. But Carroll College oversized the Orediggers and out rebounded Tech 58-27 in the game.
McGree led the Diggers with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Farris finished with 12 points and three boards.
Freshman
Kaylynn Coverdell led the Diggers on the boards grabbing eight.
Katie Estey led the Saints with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Cassidy Hashley grabbed 16 boards for the Saints.
Montana Tech (0-1, 4-8) loses their seventh straight.
