BUTTE, Mont. - Frontier Conference leading scorer Adam Greger and the Montana Tech men's basketball team head on the road for two critical matchups against Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College. With the conference tournament approaching, Tech is a game behind Rocky and trails Carroll by two. The Diggers take on the Saints on Thursday then the Battlin' Bears on Saturday. Both games tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

For the Record
The Diggers are coming off of a 83-69 defeat by the hands of Lewis-Clark State last week. The loss marks the fifth straight for Tech. The Diggers shot 54.7 percent from the field however the Warriors shot an amazing 60.0 percent in the victory. Senior Adam Greger led all scores with 22 while Paul Engstrom and Chase Haack added 13 and 10 points respectively.
 
Scouting the Fighting Saints
Winners of four out of their last five games, the Saints currently sit alone at the third sport in conference standings. Carroll won two close games last week against no. 20 UGF (61-57) and at MSU-Northern (60-58). Freshman Oliver Carr averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds to lead the Saints.

Last Time vs. Carroll
Tech shot 72.1 percent from the field on their way to an 80-57 victory over the visiting Carroll College on Jan. 24. The Saints had a 34-33 advantage at halftime via a buzzer-beater by Zach Taylor. However, Tech outscored Carroll 47-23 in the second half.  Greger led four Diggers in double figures with 25 points. Antonio Snow added 18 while Chase Haack and Brandon Rydberg had 10 a piece.
 
Scouting the Battlin' Bears
Rocky is 16-11 on the season and 5-6 in conference play which is tied for fifth-best. The Battlin' Bears have won four out of the last five games. RMC went 1-1 last week at MSU-Northern and UGF. Rocky fell 78-64 vs. MSU-N then bounced back with an 89-74 victory at Great Falls. Malachi Roberts averaged 20.5 points and four rebounds a game last week for RMC. 
 
Last Time vs. RMC
The Diggers erased a 17-point second half deficit but it wasn't enough as Rocky held on to the 80-73 victory on Jan. 22nd. Tech outrebounded (36-32) and outshot (51.7 to 49.1) Rocky but the Battlin' Bears took 16 more free throws than the Diggers and made 12 more. RMC snapped Tech's eight game win-streakand gave the Diggers just their second home lost at that time. Greger had 21 points and five rebounds to lead the Diggers. Chase Haack had a career-high 20 points along with five boards and three assists.
 
UP and Adam
Senior Adam Greger's 18.8 points per game tops all scores in the Frontier Conference. The Florence native has scored in double figures in 21 of Tech's 24 games. The forward has scored in double figures in seven straight games and has scored 20+ in four straight. Greger is also averaging 19.6 points in conference play.
 
Tale of Two Streaks
Tech is in the midst of a five-game losing streak, its longest losing streak since the 2011-12 season (6). The Diggers started off conference play 3-0 and since then they are just 1-6. Earlier in the year Tech went on an eight-game win streak which was their longest since the 1998-99 season.
