Box Score GREAT FALLS—Montana Tech got the monkey off their back as the Diggers won their first game in Frontier Conference play against UGF, 74-66.
The victory snapped a 13 game losing streak. Montana Tech (6-13, 1-6) hadn't won since November 7.
The Orediggers were led by
Jalen Coates and
Paul Engstrom who combined for 40 of Montana Tech points. Engstrom collected six rebounds and Coates dished out three assists and collected two steals in the effort.
The Digger defense held UGF to just 33 percent shooting from the floor and 2-for-13 shooting from three point land.
Montana Tech trailed Great Falls 35-33 at the break.
Cruz Ginns Jr. scored 14 points while
Lukas Vining chipped in eight points and collected seven rebounds.
Michael Harris and Darren Lockett led UGF with 16 points apiece.
Montana Tech returns home to take on Carroll College on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
