HELENA, Mont. – The Orediggers fell to No. 13 Carroll College 68-53 on the road Thursday night.
The Diggers (6-18, 2-11) dropped their third game of the season to the Saints (194, 9-4).
Montana Tech made it interesting early when
Kimi Heng hit a half-court shot closing out the first quarter with a 13-12 lead. Carroll came back to lead 29-21 at halftime.
The Orediggers tied the game at 40 with 2:37 left in the third, but the Saints controlled the rest of the game.
Carroll won the battle of the boards 36-22.
The Orediggers shot 33.3 percent from the field while the Saints hit an above average 48.9 percent from the floor. The Saint hit 20 of 25 from the free throw line.
Martha Dembek led all scorers with 14 points shooting 4 for 9 from three. She added four rebounds and a pair of assists to her totals.
Heng finished with 10 points going 3 for 6 and 2 for 4 from long range.
Brittany Johnson was one of three Saints with 13 points. She also had eight rebounds. Baylee Watson and Cassidy Hashley also netted 13 apiece. The trio combined for 20 rebounds.
The Orediggers return home Saturday hosting No. 12 Lewis-Clark State.
