BUTTE, Mont.- The Oredigger men's basketball team got the 2019-20 season off on the right foot defeating Salish-Kootenai College 151-52 on Friday night in the Fall Classic Basketball Tournament at Kelvin Sampson Court.
Montana Tech's high-octane night started with the Diggers taking a 76-20 lead into the halftime break after shooting 60% from the floor. The Diggers were led in scoring by
Cody Baumstarck's 27 points while
Taylor England and
Sindou Diallo scored 26 and 25 points respectively.
Drew Huse chipped in 19 markers and
Troy Owens Jr. and
Dylan Pannabecker each rang up 12.
Nate Ward and
Christian Jones each scored 9 points while
Derrius Collins added 6,
Cody Liles scored 4, and Will Mytty scored 2.
The Orediggers finished the contest 59-for-96 from the floor and 13-for-29 from three. Montana Tech outrebounded SKC 70-28.
Montana Tech (1-0) takes on College of Idaho in the Fall Classic finale at 7 P.M. Saturday night.
