BUTTE, Mont.- Montana Tech couldn't overcome a six point halftime deficit falling to Southern Oregon 83-73 on Saturday night at Kelvin Sampson Court.
The Orediggers (2-2) shot 47.1% from the floor and were 10-for-17 from downtown but couldn't keep pace with Southern Oregon who finished the contest shooting 52.5% from the field. The Orediggers struggled at the free throw line shooting just 51.7%.
Montana Tech was led offensively by
Troy Owens Jr. who had 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting.
Taylor England and
Drew Huse chipped in 14 and 12 respectably.
Southern Oregon was led in scoring by Teron Bradford who had 22 points.
Montana Tech gets back in action next weekend in a tournament hosted by College of Idaho in Caldwell.
