Scouting the Fighting Saints
The Fighting Saints are fifth in the Frontier Conference standings with a conference record of 5-5 and an overall record of 14-10. The Saints are second in the Frontier in hitting percentage (.203) sitting only behind Montana Tech (.205) in that category. Carroll is third in the NAIA averaging 2.64 blocks per game and is led by Hannah Dean who is sixth in the nation averaging 1.31 blocks per game. Carroll is coached by Butte native Moe Boyle who is in her 15th season.
 
Last Time v. Carroll
Montana Tech defeated Carroll College on Oct. 2nd in a five-set thriller at Kelvin Sampson Court. Montana Tech won the first set but dropped the next two sets forcing the Orediggers to rally back from a 2-1 deficit. Karina Mickelson led the way for Montana Tech with 17 kills while McKenna Kaelber tallied a season-high 55 assists. Montana Tech has won the last three matches against Carroll College.
 
Scouting the Lewis-Clark State Warriors
The Warriors of Lewis-Clark State (20-8, 5-5) sit atop the Frontier Conference standings entering the final week of conference play. The Warriors are riding a seven match winning streak and have won 10 of their last 11 matches. The Lewis-Clark State Warriors are led by Tori Edwards who has 287 kills and is hitting for a .259 clip at the net.
 
Last Time v. Warriors
The Warriors defeated Montana Tech in four sets on Oct. 5th in Lewiston, Idaho. The Warriors were led by Brooke Kaawa who had 17 kills. Montana Tech's Maureen Jessop tallied  a team-high 13 kills for the Diggers.
 
Conference Race Heats Up
The Frontier Conference standings could not be tighter with Lewis-Clark State sitting at the top with an 8-2 record. Montana Tech, Providence, and Rocky are all just a game behind the Warriors with 7-3 conference records. A first-round bye in the Frontier Conference tournament is up for grabs for the team that wins the conference championship.
 
No Place Like Home
Montana Tech is 8-1 at Kelvin Sampson Court and 12-1 playing in Butte after going 4-0 in the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge at the Butte Civic Center in August. The Orediggers are 37-12 at Kelvin Sampson Court over the last five seasons. Montana Tech finishes the Frontier Conference schedule at home on Saturday Nov. 9th.
 
Kaelber Wins National Award
Montana Tech's McKenna Kaelber was named the NAIA National Setter of the Week on Tuesday. Kaelber, a freshman from Pasco, Wash., averaged 14.5 assists per set in Montana Tech's victories over Western and No. 16 Rocky. Kaelber has won the Frontier Conference Setter of the Week honor four times this season and leads the conference in total assists (905) and assists per set (9.3).
 
Senior Saturday
Montana Tech will honor senior libero Sabrina Hopcroft and senior outside hitter Heather Thompson on Senior Day on Saturday against L-C State.
 
Almost Tournament Time
The Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament is Nov. 15-16th in Great Falls, Mont. Tournament matchups will be announced on Nov. 11th.
