Orediggers Drop One in Havre, 57-50

HAVRE, Mont.- Montana Tech's four game winning streak came to an end on Saturday night in Havre, 57-50.

The Orediggers (14-7, 6-4 Conf.) stumbled out of the gates in the Armory Gymnasium and MSU-Northern capitalized. The Lights led Tech 32-23 at half after Montana Tech shot just 35.7% from the floor.

"Playing back-to-back games on the road is extremely challenging," said coach Adam Hiatt. "Northern was energized from the opening tip and we struggled to match their energy consistently. The game ended up the way one would expect with two defensive oriented programs: low scoring and few good scoring opportunities."

The Orediggers had three players in double figures in Taylor England who tallied his fourth consecutive double-double and his eighth of the season scoring 13 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Derrius Collins and Sindou Diallo each had 10 points while Dylan Pannabecker added 9, Troy Owens Jr. scored 4, and  Drew Huse and Christian Jones scored 2 apiece.

The Lights, who shot 38.0% from the field, were led by Kavon Bey who had 17 points.  Montana Tech finished the night shooting 41.7%.

"Overall we are proud of our fight to the end and look forward to regrouping back in Butte."

The Orediggers return to action on Wednesday night against Carroll College in Helena at 7:30 p.m.
