BUTTE, Mont.- Montana Tech lost a tough contest to (RV) Rocky Mountain College in a Sunday afternoon matinee, 69-61.
A night after the Orediggers dominated the glass, Rocky won the rebounding battle 39-28 and grabbed 17 offensive boards. Montana Tech led 38-32 at halftime but the a strong third quarter out of the Battlin' Bears changed the momentum.
Montana Tech finished the game shooting 44.9% from the floor but was just 5-for-16 from downtown in the loss. The Diggers lone double digit scorer was
Dani Urick who netted 18 points.
Mesa Williams scored nine and Soda rice added seven. Four players chipped in six points in Maddie Allen,
Brooke Heggie,
Aubrie Rademacher, and
Celestina Faletoi.
Mollie Peoples scored three.
Rocky was led by Kloie Thatcher's 21 points.
The Orediggers will get a break after playing four games in the last seven days and return to action on Saturday when they play the Northern Skylights in Havre at 5 p.m.
