WHITEFISH, Mont. – The Frontier Conference announced the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week today. Drake Schlachter from Montana Tech was named the Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Montana Tech competed in their first indoor meet of the season last week at the Bobcat Challenge hosted by Montana State in Bozeman. Schlachter, a freshman from Penn Valley, Calif., participated in his first career meet for the Orediggers. Schlachter won the long jump with a distance of 6.69 meters or 21'11.5". The mark was a foot and half more than his previous personal best.
 
Schlachter's mark bested the other competition at the meet that included NCAA Division I and II opponents.
