MISSOULA, Mont. – The Montana Tech Track & Field Teams competed at the Tom Gage Classic hosted by the University of Montana Saturday. The Orediggers competed against NCAA Division I and NAIA schools in one last regular season meet trying to hit a NAIA national standard and earn their way to the NAIA National Championship.
Becca Richtman hit a NAIA A-Standard finishing second in the 1,500 meter with a time of 4:33.36. Richtman had ran the 1,500 this season.
Jenna Jordan had already qualified in the A-Standard but finished fourth in the javelin making the A-Standard. Trisen Sedgwick hit the B-Standard in the discus for the second meet in a row.
Natylia Jacobsen took second in the 100 meter with a time of 12.33 seconds.
Abby Clark took third in the high jump with a 1.61 meter mark.
Olleca Severson finished fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:06.97.
Hailey Nielson finished fourth in the 5,000 meter with a time of 18:36.48.
Drake Schlachter finished third in the long jump with a leap of 6.52 meters.
The NAIA National Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama is up next for the Orediggers.
