HELENA, Mont- The Frontier Conference has released its first Erck Hotels Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, and the Orediggers nab both of the women's categories.
The women's track athlete of the week goes to Montana Tech's
Carlin Manning. Carlin finished with a time of 10:42.53, which was good for 5
th place overall (in a field of 29), and the highest NAIA finisher in the field.
The field events athlete of the week was awarded to Montana Tech Sophomore
Jadyn Vermillion who placed second in the women's long jump. In a field of 28 athletes representing the NCAA, DII, and NAIA, Jadyn had a huge jump of 5.59m (18-4.25) to land her on the podium. The next highest NAIA athlete was teammate Rylee Armstrong in 13
th place. Jadyn's jump was the 10th-best in the NAIA so far this year, and it qualified her for the NAIA National Indoor Championships, as it passed the NAIA B Standard of 5.52m.
Jadyn also finished 4
th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.72m (35-2.00), again she was the highest NAIA finisher.
