Oredigger Track and Field with a strong showing in Lockwood

Montana Tech men win the meet, women finish fourth.

LOCKWOOD, Mont.- The Oredigger men's Track and Field team takes down the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open. Putting up an impressive 134 points in the win, the Orediggers finished with four event wins, and 12 new PR's on the day. Rocky Mountain College finished in second with 76 points, the University of Mary third, Dickinson State fourth, and Bismarck fifth.

The Oredigger women finished the day in fourth place with 83 points. Dickinson State finished on top of the women's standings with 147 points, Rocky Mountain College finished in second with 114, University of Mary third.

Jadyn Vermillion had another strong day for the Oredigger women, winning the 100m sprint with a time of 12.68 (a new PR), she also finished on top of the podium in Long Jump with a jump of 5.60m (18-04.50). Teammate Abby Clark finished in second place in the long jump, with a new PR of 5.50m.
Abby's day was far from over, she also cleared 1.59m in the high jump to place third.

Other strong finishes for the women's team were Olleca Severson third place finish in the 100m hurdles, Abby Clark finished in fifth.

Kamryn Comba crossed in a time of 2:22.55 to finish third in the women's 800m. Alyssa Jany ran an impressive 5000m, shaving nearly 30 seconds off of her previous PR to finish in a time of 18:45.06, that time was good for third place.

Jenna Jordan won the Javelin with a throw of 37.87m, Madison Chappuis finished fourth with a throw of 35.95m.

Current Frontier Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, Cade VanVleet continues his fantastic form with the discus, winning the event with a throw of 48.63m. Cade hit the NAIA B standard last week in Missoula. VanVleet also finished third in the shot put, behind teammate Jesse Mecham who finished in second place with a throw of 15.42m.

Nicolo Lancini won the long jump with a mark of 6.28m (20-07.25).

Montana Tech put up 20 points in the 110m hurdles with freshman Wesley Tschacher winning the event, Kellen Colliflower crossing in third, and Jacob Buckingham taking fourth.

The other win went to the 4 x 400m team of A. Schrader, C. Henke, K.Gregerson, and T. Christiansen.

Freshman Skyler Peterson placed second in the triple jump with a new PR of 13.11m.

Jonas Sherman got on the podium for a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.71m (5-07.25)
