HELENA, Mont.- The Oredigger Men capture the title at the Fighting Saints Open, and the Montana Tech women finish 4^th.

The Oredigger men's team puts up an impressive 220 points in Helena on Friday to take the team title. Carroll finishes second with 133.5, Providence was third with 100, followed by Rocky with 45, and Western tallies 8 points.

Caden Caywood had a great day on the track for the Orediggers, winning the 200m, taking 2^nd in the 100m, and also was part of the Oredigger 4x100 team that found the top of the podium. Teammates Jordan Olson placed 4^th in the 100m, and Dom Maricelli crossed in 5^th in both the 100 and 200m.

The Orediggers finished 2^nd -5^th in the men's 400m putting 20 points in the score book for the Diggs. Adam Schrader crossed in second, followed by Ian Barville, Max Cianflone, and Tucker Christiansen.

Morgan McClernan continues to dominate in the hurdles, winning the 110m in 15.08, and the 400m in a time of 56.03. Both times appear to be Season Best times (if not PB's). In the 110m hurdles, Adam Schrader crossed in second, with Nate Davis finishing in third for the 400m.

The men swept the relays as well, taking down the 4x100, the 4x400, and the 4x800.

Montana Tech's men tallied five wins in the field events.

The Frontier Conference Field Athlete of the Week the past three weeks, Cade VanVleet continued his run, winning both the discus, and the hammer throw, and taking seventh in the shot put. Sophomore Jesse Mecham won the shot put for the Diggs throwing 15.41m just 1/10^th of a meter under the B Standard.

Skylar Peterson hit a new PR (6.50m) to win the long jump, with Will Sanguins taking third.

The Triple Jump title went to Nicolo Lancini, the NAIA Indoor All-American in the triple jump, went 14.54m in Helena which cleared the NAIA B Standard of 14.35m. And that wasn't all, the Orediggers were crowded at the top of the podium, going 1,2,3. Skyler Peterson took second, and Cameron Tobiness finished third.

The Argos of Providence won the women's side of the competition with 149 points, Carroll was second with 139.5, Rocky third at 116, and Montana Tech fourth with 114.

Jenna Jordan was able to punch her card to Nationals with a B Standard throw in the javelin at 40.42m, just .08m shy of the A Standard mark. Tyra Opperman placed third, and Madison Chappuis taking fourth.

Abby Clark took down the 200m with a time of 26.01. Sophomore Alyssa Jany won the 1500m in 5:08.69, with Alyssa Plant crossing in fourth.

Olleca Severson won the 400m hurdles, with Rylee Armstrong taking third in the 100 hurdles.

The women were very strong in the relays, winning the 4x400m, and taking second in both the 4x100 and the 4x800.

Rylee Armstrong jumped 1.53m in the high jump to win the event, with Peyton Walker taking third.

Freshman MaKenzie Sheils placed second in the long jump at 5.28m.

The Orediggers will be in Missoula next Friday and Saturday for the Montana Open.
